ItalianCookingTips
Figs are an excellent alternative to the “usual” melon. If you visit Italy in the summer, in fact, you will find in every restaurant, among the appetizers, the old, dear “Prosciutto and Melon” … which is excellent! Try with figs, it will surprise you!

ItalianCookingTips:
Prosciutto is not cooked or smoked (like ham), but “air dried”. Seasoning can go up to 3 years: a “young” ham has a pinker color, a more delicate taste and is softer. An aged ham, on the other hand, is more savory, fragrant and crunchy: perfect to accompany the softness and sweetness of the fig (or melon)

ItalianCookingTips:
“Prosciutto e Fichi” is an appetizer that opens the meal.
If your dinner is placée, you can serve it on a tray, so that guests serve and eat it on their plate.
If, on the other hand, you have organized a buffet, prepare small finger food canapes
